Sir JIM RATCLIFFE did not give up his Chelsea offer without a fight and begged the club to consider his offer.
The British petrochemical tycoon, 69, has pledged to improve the existing Stamford Bridge rather than build a new stadium as Roman Abramovich had planned.
Boehly is known to have been named Chelsea’s preferred bidder despite Ratcliffe’s last £4bn offer.
And Boehly’s team was told that an “exclusive period” was granted to discuss the final terms of the acquisition package.
But Russia’s Oligarch Roman Abramovich says he is “trying to break his promise to pay off £1.6 billion in debt”.
This is despite the 55-year-old saying he won’t ask for a loan to repay when he sells the club.
Future deals between Boehly and West London outfits could be canceled.
Or, in the worst-case scenario, Chelsea could lose their Premier League status.
Meanwhile, Levi Kolwill and Armando Broza are said to be considering their future at the club amid uncertainty surrounding the acquisition.
