However, instead of wearing the traditional white jersey, Los Blancos decided to debut a black ensemble designed by Yohji Yamamoto to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Adidas x Y-3 and the 120th anniversary of Real Madrid.

Barcelona went with a yellow away kit with three red stripes on the chest.

That choice didn’t go well with the football purist who criticized the outfit on Twitter.

Jamziinoo wrote: “That Real Madrid jersey is old-fashioned.” This is offensive slang.

Harryfremantle: “I just turned on Real Madrid vs Barcelona. Neither team wore home. Kit, the game is perfect and truly gone.”

FC Fans Barcelona Nation wrote, “It’s so strange to see Real Madrid’s traditional white jersey and Barcelona’s traditional Blaugra or El Clasico without their jersey.”

Freundsoham said, “It’s a great kit for Real Madrid and Barcelona. It’s missing the old White and Red & Blue. El Clasico looks less important and interesting in this kit.”

Finally, krxss8 moaned, “Why are Barça and Real Madrid wearing yellow and black jerseys at El Clasico. Modern football is over.”

And they had the best possible start. That said, they raced to lead two goals before halftime.

Goals from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Ronald Araujo put the visitors in the driver’s seat in an important LaLiga crash.
