GEORGINIO WIJNALDUM has been named Ligue 1 ‘Failure of the Year’ 12 months after a spectacular move from Liverpool to PSG.
The Dutch midfielder turned from a key player in Kop to a partial player with runaway champion Mauricio Pochettino.
And ‘by a big margin’, the 31-year-old took first place in a poll of 100,000 fans, voting for the biggest failure of the French First Division.
The former Newcastle hero did not play 90 minutes full time for PSG for more than two months at the end of the season.
As a result, former Manchester United manager Luis van Gaal expelled him from the Dutch squad.
And after admitting he wasn’t ‘completely happy’ early in his PSG career, Wijnaldum is now worried about qualifying for the World Cup this winter.

The former PSV Eindhoven and Feyenoord Starr have appeared in 22 of the 38 games they signed for PSG on free agent after beating Barcelona last summer.
However, he hasn’t fully recovered from his favorite Pochettino pairing Idrissa Gueye with Marco Verratti at the start of the campaign.
However, it is now known that Pochettino will also leave despite having regained the title by 15 points with Lille.
There were even claims that the former Tottenham manager had agreed to a retirement package.
Great manager Christophe Galtier is already favoring the takeover.
As for Wijnaldum, his future in the French capital also seems uncertain. Even though he has two years left on his contract.

And Wijnaldum was said to be a comfortable ‘winner’. Although PSG may feel they are the losers now with him signing.
