He was there and saw everything before.
But reaching the Europa League final with the Rangers means a lot to Allan McGregor now, just like it did a few years ago.

The veteran goalkeeper was a tycoon in Gers goals while playing in Europe.
There are only two huge double saves against Sparta Prague and a penalty save against Red Bull Salzburg.
In fact, McGregor made a decisive save to stop Konrad Reimer before RB Leipzig’s danger man Christopher Nkunku’s unstoppable strike.
The 40-year-old missed the 2008 UEFA Cup final with an injury after Walter Smith’s men lost to Zenit St. Petersburg.

In this round, he looks more than eager to make up for lost time.
McGregor said before the first leg of the semi-finals that this European match was one of the highlights of his long and successful career.
And he certainly enjoyed a full-time celebration inside the Ibrox last night.
The Rangers social media team followed the players in a round after their overall victory over RB Leipzig.
The club’s famous ‘Blue Sea of Ibrox’ blared through the sound system and 50,000 Gers fans stayed back for the celebration.
Allan McGregor sang proudly out loud with supporters as he strolled through the Ibrox lawn with arms outstretched, singing to the lyrics.
His 2008 teammate was also delighted to see the Rangers cross the finish line tonight.
Kris Boyd praised Gers’ never-dying attitude and said his old team’s runs were ‘not fake’.
He said: “The true solidarity of this team is something you cannot buy. And now you will be stronger.
“It looks like Celtic will win the league, but if the Rangers can win the Scottish Cup and reach the Europa League final, it’s like the team in 2008.
“The manager’s role of never saying anything is very important. Trusting him and trusting the player is the way to get results.

“They couldn’t believe it. They deserved it. This is no coincidence. They brought down the Champions League team.
“It’s an incredible result and it’s not just for the Rangers. In Scottish football we don’t have the finances to compete at this level, but with that unity and team spirit the Rangers have shown that they can go far in Europe and that’s what happened tonight.”
