Huge WhatsApp update means some texts may now be deleted automatically.
Some chats will start emptying after a period of time.

One
This is tied to a new privacy feature, so don’t panic.
For many years, WhatsApp messages were permanent. Even if you delete it, others will still be able to see it.
Then, WhatsApp allows you to “unsend” the text within a certain period of time so that it can be deleted for you and all recipients.
Finally, earlier this year, WhatsApp launched a new feature that automatically “unsends” messages.

This is important because it means that some texts sent to you do not persist.
And if you activate it, your own text will also disappear.
This is an important privacy feature you should consider turning on.
If not enabled, sent texts may still be “unsent”.
How to Send WhatsApp Disappearing Messages
How to enable WhatsApp disappearing messages today?
Open the app on your mobile, then go to Settings > Account > Privacy.
Find the disappearing message, then set the toggle to the On position.
Then choose how long the message will disappear (24 hours, 7 days, or 90 days).
A message will appear in the chat confirming that Disappear Messages is on.
To activate on an existing chat, you must first archive it and then unarchive it.
You can also enable messages to disappear from certain chats by tapping the individual settings of your WhatsApp contacts.
Disappearing text warning
Of course, no system is perfect.
If someone has screenshot or recorded your chat, there is no way to remove that content from your phone using the official WhatsApp feature.
As always, the best way to block embarrassing or embarrassing content from the internet is to not post it in the first place.
But if you’re particularly concerned, Disappearing Messages is a good system for you.
REMEMBER: Only texts you send after enabling Disappearing Messages will be deleted. It won’t turn back time and rub old letters for you.
Text is not deleted from other forwarded chats.
And the disappearing messages are still stored in the recipient’s backup, but are deleted when that user restores from the backup.
Text may remain in chats even if the original message is deleted due to a message citation.
